A variety of cultural activities exist for the pupils to take part in: drama, music, debating, religion (the VSCV and the SCA), Avanti (school newspaper), German and French societies, library- and community service. Drama and music gets public exposure in our regular performances and productions.
Die drama-en musiekdepartement van La Rochelle bring ook elke tweede jaar 'n musiekblyspel op die planke. Daar word probeer om soveel moontlik leerders te betrek by hierdie produksies. By hierdie opvoerings, wat al bykans legendaries geraak het vir die hoë gehalte daarvan, word die tegniese werk agter die skerms deur senior leerders hanteer. Musicals wat onlangs op die planke gebring is, sluit in Grease, The Sound of Music, High School Musical, La Coolage asook Cindy.
Our music centre affords our pupils the opportunity to master a wide variety of musical instruments.
Pupils can furthermore become part of the choir, chamber choir and orchestra and take part in various competitions and eisteddfods. A yearbook has appeared since 1906 and literary contributions from the learners together with photos of the year's activities are published. |
